Guinevere’s Education and Living Expenses

On July 16, 2022, Stacy Kimmel lost a courageous 16-year battle with cancer. Stacy was only 54.

Stacy's beloved daughter, Guinevere, 19, is entering her junior year at California State University Long Beach. She is a talented artist and a fantastic academic student. But since Stacy was the primary supporter of Guinevere, money will now be tight, and this fund is to ensure that Guinevere's education and living costs are covered.

Due to covid and Stacy being so high risk, Guinevere attended school remotely during her freshman year while living with Stacy and Chris (Stacy's amazing longtime boyfriend). For sophomore year, Guinevere commuted to school, about 1.5 to 2 hours each way from home. As a junior, Guinevere FINALLY has an opportunity to live near campus in an apartment with roommates. However, funds will go fast between school, rent and basic living expenses.

When Stacy was first diagnosed in 2006, Guinevere was 3 years old. What started as seemingly simple breast cancer evolved into years of chemotherapy, radiation, multiple major surgeries (most recently on July 6) and Stacy living with stage 4 metastatic cancer in her brain for most of Guinevere's life. But Stacy never complained! She took it all in stride and always amazed the doctors by bouncing back and overcoming the odds.

Stacy was very fortunate to have Chris by her side as he took such amazing care of her for so many years. And Guinevere is lucky to have Chris too, but now she needs help from family and friends. Of course, Guinevere will always have a place to call home in Pasadena with Chris, but this remarkable young woman deserves to have a real college experience and live near campus.
