El cáncer a menudo se asocia con una sensación de aislamiento. Los pacientes se sienten solos con su sufrimiento, aislados de la comunidad, Un diagnóstico de cáncer puede afectar la salud emocional de los pacientes, las familias y los cuidadores. Los sentimientos comunes durante esta experiencia que cambia la vida incluyen ansiedad, angustia y depresión. Los roles en el hogar, la escuela y el trabajo pueden afectarse espero cambiar el guión y hacer de esta una historia de empoderamiento, esperanza y renovación. Mi nombre es Josarelyn Guevara, sobrina de Guillermo Guevara, conocido por muchos como (Guille o willi), es un Venezolano que llego a la ciudad de Evansville IN, en el año de 1989, como todos con una maleta cargada de sueños, Casado con Theresa Hardesty, padre de dos hermosas niñas, Angela y Marielle. Es una persona muy alegre, carismática y animada, con un corazón agradecido por esta gran Nación, Los ultimos 15 años ha dedicado su vida a servir a la comunidad, de los cuáles los ultimos 9 años lo ha hecho atraves de Echo comunity care, como trabajador Social y activo colaborador de asociaciones sin fines de lucro como la mesa latina, ayudando no solo a la comunidad hispana, Guillermo ha traspasado fronteras ayudando a muchos sin distinción de raza o religión, en diferentes circunstancias de vida, sin ningún interés que no sea el de tenderle la mano a su comunidad, con ese gran sentido de empatia, humildad, compasión y humanidad que lo caracterizan!

En Mayo de 2022, un hallazgo anormal en su (PSA ) lo condujo a un diagnóstico oficial de Cáncer de Prostata, Diagnóstico que lo tomo por sopresa a el y a la familia, pero tanto Guillermo como su familia estamos listos para luchar y ganar!!!

Como ocurre con muchas enfermedades, la gravedad puede variar de un paciente a otro, desde leve hasta potencialmente mortal. Desafortunadamente, el Cancer de Guillermo es agresivo, Sin embargo, el está librando una batalla con la mejor actitud y fortalecido en su fe en Dios y su gran amor a su familia. Actualmente, Guillermo requiere de la 2da fase de su tratamiento que es la radioterapia, Con ese estilo clasico de Guillermo decidido y cauteloso, lo llevo a buscar la mejor opción de tratamiento para su cura, específicamente radioterapia de protones, para apoyar su sanación y lograr asi la eliminación de esas células que funcionan mal. Para que Guillermo pueda continuar con su vida normal como lo ha venido haciendo y ver a sus hijas crecer, Este tratamiento es muy costoso, una parte sera cubierta por su seguro médico, además de ello deberá ausentarse por 6 semanas de su casa y lugar de trabajó en el cuál cabe destacar, que su enfermedad no ha sido una limitante y continúa activo, ayudando a la comunidad. Pero debe viajar al norte de la ciudad de Nashville, Tennessee. Ya que son pocas las ciudades en los Estados Unidos, dónde realizan este tratamiento.

Guillermo ha sido bendecido con un gran sistema de apoyo en el que todos han intervenido para ayudar. Su esposa, Theresa, ha asumido un papel fundamental, su familiares más cercanos, amigos, hermanos de la iglesia y compañeros de trabajo.

He creado esta página de Gofundme, con la intención de conectar con toda esa gran comunidad de Evansville y más allá, para conectar con nuestro gran amigo, compañero, hermano, primo, tío Guillermo Guevara. Para alcanzar nuestra meta de $30 k. Cancer is often associated with a feeling of isolation. Patients feel alone in their suffering,

isolated from the community. A cancer diagnosis can affect the emotional health of patients,

families, and caregivers. Common feelings during this life-changing experience include anxiety,

heartbreak, and depression. Roles at home, school, and work can all be affected. I hope to flip the

script and make this a story of empowerment, hope, and renewal. You can be part of this story.

My name is Josarelyn Guevara, Guillermo Guevara's niece, known by many as (Guille or

Willie). He is a Venezuelan-American who arrived in the city of Evansville IN, in 1989. Like

everyone else, he came with a suitcase full of dreams. He is married to Theresa Hardesty,and is

father of two beautiful girls, Angela and Marielle. He is a very cheerful, charismatic and lively

person, with a grateful heart for this great nation. The last 15 years he has dedicated his life to

serving the community, of which the last 9 years he has done it through Echo Community

Healthcare as a Community Health Worker. He is a social and active collaborator of non-profit

associations such as the Latino Collaboration Table, which helps not only the Hispanic

community, Guillermo has crossed borders helping many without distinction of race or religion,

in different life circumstances, without any interest other than to reach out to his community,

with that great sense of empathy, humility, compassion and humanity that characterizes him!

In May 2022, an abnormal Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) level led him to an official

diagnosis of Prostate Cancer, a diagnosis that took him and his family by surprise. But both

Guillermo and his family are ready to fight and win!

As with many illnesses, the severity can vary from patient to patient, from mild to life

threatening. Unfortunately, Guillermo's cancer is aggressive. However, he is fighting a battle

with the best attitude and is strengthened in his faith in God and his great love for his family.

Currently, Guillermo requires the 2nd phase of his treatment, which is radiotherapy. With

Guillermo's classic determined and cautious style, he chose the best treatment option for his cure,

specifically proton radiotherapy, to support his healing and achieve the elimination of those cells

that work badly.

In order for Guillermo to continue with his normal life as he has been doing and to see his

daughters grow, this treatment which is very costly, which a part of will be covered by his health

insurance. In addition to this, he must be absent from home and work for 6 weeks of treatment.

It should be noted that his illness has not been a limitation for him to work and continues to be

active, helping the community. However, he must travel south to the city of Franklin, Tennessee.

This is the closest location offering this kind of treatment.

Guillermo has been blessed with a great support system where everyone has stepped in to help.

His wife, Theresa, has assumed a fundamental role, his closest relatives, friends, church family,

and co-workers.
