My brother Guillermo "Memo" was diagnosed with Colon cancer last week. He has a tumor of about 8cm and blocking over 90% of his colon. He needs a surgery ASAP and COVID situation is making it impossible to have the surgery through his insurance or public hospital.
As per the urgency of his surgery, he will need to go to a private hospital and pay all specialists appointments and treatments. We are hoping by the end of the week we will have a clearer picture of the treatments and procedures that will be needed.
Although his wife is working and the family is supporting him, it will not be enough to release the stress to cover their regular expenses (rent, groceries, transportation, gasoline, parking fees, doctor's fees, etc) during this time.
He drives an UBER and this year due to COVID his income was not great and stable. As per his pain and doctor's orders, he has not been able to work for a few weeks now.
The stress is not letting him focous on his healing.
His daughter and son are amazing smart kids (18 and 8), his daughter has a full scholarship at a private University studying Engineering.
I love my brother and hurts me not being able to be there with him at this time, so this is just a way I found to support him.
If you can make any small contribution will make a huge difference in their lives right now.
Thank you so much!
Dalell
