Guild Mortgage SC Flood Fund

Over approximately 48 hours, and concentrated on the night of October 3, 2015 significant parts of the State of South Carolina received a catostrophic amount of rain.  Some areas more than 20 inches.  Rivers that normally flow a few feet deep crested over 30 feet.   Much of the truly horrific damage was done in residential neighborhoods, on streams and lakes.  We will never have data on flood waters in some neighborhoods, because most of the flood gauges were swept away.   Many who did escape climbed out of second story windows in to boats in the middle of the night; the flood took the first floor too fast to walk out.  Too many did not escape at all.  Some have flood insurance, many do not.  These flood waters blew right past the 100 year flood plain.  Many people in our state need your help.  They're facing the aftermath of a 1000 year event, and  $1,000,000,000 in damages.  I was born and raised in Columbia and now work in the Guild Columbia branch. We'd like to gather the collective power of Guild Mortgage Company into one donation which will go entirely to the Red Cross in the name of the flood victims of South Carolina.  While we are focusing on company employees, anyone is welcome to donate.
