Family and Friends,
I believe most of us know that one of Felipe’s great passions was carpentry. Not only was it his passion, but every project he set his mind to turned out beautifully! (I love that Felipe shared this talent with Jesus!) A few years ago, Tara and Felipe purchased their home in Haslet and part of the reason they chose this particular home was that they would be able to build a guest home for Tara’s father, Mark, once his beloved wife passed away. Unfortunately, that plan would never come to fruition. Mark’s health rapidly declined and prior to his death, he told Felipe, “I know I will not be here to see it, but I think you should build it for your Mom.”. A gift of this magnitude was just too much for Felipe to fathom and he was overcome with gratitude. The money Mark allotted for this home covered the concrete slab and the metal shell. Past that point, Tara and Felipe have been using their own funds, time, and labor to slowly work on the home. Felipe has put in many, many hours and lots of manual labor into this home but it’s not quite complete. If you feel led by God, it would be such a blessing to the family to donate monetarily to complete the guest home in lieu of flowers. Felipe would be so grateful to know that we are taking the baton from him to complete this home for his Mom, Sofia. If you know of someone who has strong carpentry skills and could donate their time, that would also be greatly appreciated! We are all so incredibly blessed to have had Felipe in our lives. We cannot wait to be reunited with him in Heaven! What a glorious day that will be!
