SUPPORT THE GRASSROOTS ORGANISATIONS SUSTAINING LIFE IN TIMES OF DEATH/
#COVID-19EC

------> ENGLISH <--------

Ecuador is one of the countries with most cases of COVID-19 in South America. The numbers of deaths and infections continue to increase exponentially, leading the country to further collapse. Ecuadorians not only have to face the challenge that this disease represents, but they have to live with it under circumstances such as a precarious health system, the lack of medical material and personnel, insufficient due to the economic measures of a corrupt government. This tragic scenario is currently being exacerbated in Guayaquil, one of the cities with the largest number of inhabitants in Ecuador.

Social organizations are making enormous efforts to counteract the harsh effects of social inequalities, which with this crisis are more visible than ever. By supporting vulnerable people with food collections, construction of coffins, transportation of corpses, among many others, they try to aliviate the gap left by the ineffectiveness of a non-existent governement. however, their resources are minimal. That is why we, a group of migrants, have decided to create this crowdfunding and kindly ask for your contribution. It will not only support the victims of the pandemy, but support  local  organized communities, that despite their economic limitations, show solidarity and at the same time make themselves visible as sectors that sustain life in times of death.

The funds collected will be distributed to two grassroots organisations located in Guayaquil: The Network of  support created between Women of the Plurinational  Parlament of Women and Feminist Organisations  and women of the UNTAH Guayaquil (National Union of Domestic Workers in Guayaquil) and the Platform Neighbourhoods in Struggle Movement.

The Neighborhoods in Struggle Movement is a platform that brings together various community organizations from urban areas of Ecuador. In Guayaquil, it works in the peripheries and impoverished neighborhoods with populations of women, informal workers, and children. Currently they are working on the initiative of the olla popular (popular pot) in different neighbourhoods.

The Plurinational and Popular Parliament of Women and Feminist Organizations is a network of collectives and organizations that articulate themselves in an autonomous way to influence the political life of Ecuador. With members of the National Union of Domestic Workers in Guayaquil they have created a network of psychological support and emergency response in which many families from the most affected neighbourhoods find financial, alimentary and emotional support. The funds raised will be donated to this initiative

We have learned that united we will never be defeated and we are fighting for it!
We count with your support, please donate and  spread the word!

------> CASTELLANO <--------
