Hello everyone! It's the organizers for this film, Charlie and Rosario!

    As you can see, we have decided to run after our filmmaking dreams and go to Central America! We decided to take this leap of faith by bringing more awareness to the Latinx community, more specifically Guatemalans. We will also be traveling with Marvin Rodriguez and his non-profit organization Yuntos (IG: yuntos_connect) to document the importance of giving back to our communities with something that sometimes we may take for granted - shoes!

   The purpose of this film is to bring better insight and an understanding as to why Guatemalans migrate to the United States of America.  Which will also explains why something as small as shoes are super important! With the ability to use our skills, knowledge, and passion all in one, we will bring a film together for the audience to take a walk into their (Guatemalans) shoes. 

We both feel passionate about Latinos and in this case - immigrants as well. Especially since in media we do not always see or hear the stories of Guatemalans being represented. We decided to do what any young adult would do by chasing their dreams and challenging the notation of fear of failure and choosing to be successful.

 Just how Will Smith stated, " Fear is not real. It's a product of thoughts that you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real, but fear is a choice."

  So, with that said we both are choosing to be fearless! 

  Family, friends, supporters, acquaintances or strangers, we need your help!  Whether that's a donation of 1$, 5$, 10$, 100$ or more - anything helps.

The budget of $3,000 dollars to fund the film will be going towards:

- Equipment: such as renting cameras, a drone, renting audio, and the insurance that comes along.  This may include extra batteries for the cameras or audio.  

- Safety:  The biggest and most important part of this project is our safety. Since we both reside in the United States we need a traveling guide in Guatemala.  The donations will also help assist the expenses for the travel guides time and knowledge throughout our journey.

- Traveling/Transportation: such as gas, affordable hotel/hostels, miscellaneous expenses (such as unexpected flat tire) 

- Food: We are looking to eat simple foods and experience what most Guatemalans eat on a daily bases such as rice, beans, eggs, tostadas, and rellenitos. Since we will have a travel guide with us, the donations will also go into providing meals for him. 

    Even if we may not reach GoFundMe goal something is better than nothing!  We still appreciate the time and effort to hear our idea slowly turning into a reality! We hope that you all can be part of our team.
