My name is Ben Meyers, and I’m 13 years old. This December, I’ll be traveling back to Guatemala with my mom to help at the Camotán Clinic. This small clinic provides free healthcare to families and children in the surrounding mountain villages. This will actually be my fourth trip — and I’m so excited to go back! I will be going on December 7-12.
My mom is a nurse practitioner who volunteers at the clinic, helping children with checkups, administering medicine, and providing care to people who otherwise couldn’t afford it. When I go with her, I get to help out however I can — visiting the aldeas (small mountain villages), helping hand out supplies, and spending time with the kids. Every trip has taught me so much about kindness, gratitude, and giving back.
This year, I’m hoping to raise $4,000 to make this trip possible. The funds will go toward:
✈️ $1,500 for travel and hotel expenses
️ $500 for food and local transportation
$2,000 for gifts for the children, including clothes, school supplies, and toys — things that can bring them joy and make their lives a little easier.
Many of these children don’t have anything to open on Christmas, and it means so much to be able to bring them something special.
Any amount helps, and every donation goes directly toward making this trip and these gifts possible. I’ll be sharing photos and updates from the trip so you can see the difference you’ve helped make.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support on my last trips — it truly means the world to me and to the families we’ll be serving.
