ESCUELA ANCESTRAL / ANCESTRAL SCHOOL
We value more than ever the importance of spreading deep ancestral knowledge and preserving traditions that have helped many people to find themselves, especially in times of need. Between the Tambora Foundation and the Escuela Ancestral Colombia, founded and directed by Anthar Kharana (from Colombia), we put together a very meaningful project called the “Guardians of Wisdom.” We ran this project for almost two years with the help of many people who supported us. However, with the arrival of Covid, our project had to stop… but now we are ready to re-start the journey, which is why we need your help!

THE PROJECT
This project was created to connect the modern world with ancestral knowledge and practices, especially for the people of the cities where this essential wisdom has been undervalued and, in some cases, almost forgotten. Due to the standard way of life in the cities, many people find it difficult and nearly impossible to access this ancient technology.

The "Guardians of Wisdom" Program shares the importance of reconnecting with nature, with our ancestry and foremost, with our purpose in life; therefore is relevant for these wisdom carriers to share these ancient ways as a legacy for future generations. Hearing the old stories, ancient music, traditions and healing ways with the different kingdoms of nature, among other practices and knowledge, have supported and helped many tribes to be in tune with themselves and others for centuries. We believe these teachings can continue to thrive in these changing times, especially for people in the cities and those seeking to deepen their ancestral connection.

“Ancient wisdom helps us reconnect with nature and ourselves.”

HOWS DOES THE PROJECT RUN

* This project is a journey guided by wise Elders and practitioners of ancient wisdom from different native cultures, particularly Colombia. They share different topics of life, including understanding our roots and why it is so important for preserving life, as well as practical gatherings where the participants learn the ancient ways of healing, plant medicine making and sacred ways of building.

* We run it once a week in Bogotá (the capital of Colombia) at a meditation venue that is easy for people of the city to reach out to; however, we are aware this is an unconventional place for such ancient practices. Hence, we gather once a month outside in nature at a sacred village in the heart of the Andes where Anthar lives, The Land of the Hummingbirds, commercially known as San Francisco.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Covid has left us in a difficult situation to be able to continue running this and other projects. We need your help and support to re-start another semester to pay for all the logistics and contribute to the people involved. By helping us, you are helping to preserve all these crucial traditions not only for our people but for the broader community of the world interested in these mysteries of life.

HOW WILL YOUR KINDNESS HELP
Thanks to the donations and the fantastic volunteering work from many friends who have made the project possible, we have managed to run it for four semesters. To be able to run another semester of teachings and to make a difference where we can hopefully contribute to all of those involved, we are looking to gather £3,000, which will be used as follow:

- To continue to help the elders and guardians of wisdom who come to share their knowledge.
- To pay for all the venues, transport, general production, marketing and logistics involved.
- To contribute to the different people who are involved in this project.

If you feel this call to help us, please know that with your generous or even small donation, you are making a change and also, you are becoming an essential piece to making this work possible. Thanks to your loving heart, we will be very grateful to know we can move forward.
