Covid-19 Shut-Down Relief

Please consider donating to this campaign to help G-Werx cover fixed operating expenses with matching grants through the SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF INITIATIVE .  By donating to this campaign, G-Werx is eligible for a $500 matching grant from GoFundMe  and its partners Yelp , Intuit QuickBooks , https://www.bill.com/  and GoDaddy .

Our COVID-19 Story

GWerx Fitness ' three group personal training studios were shut-down on March 17, 2020 as a result of Governor Walz's Executive Order  20-04.  G-Werx Fitness remains closed until at least May 4th, possibly and likely longer.

G-Werx believes Governor Walz  made the correct decision for the greater public good but financially it hurts.  If we are granted permission to re-open on May 4th the result will be at least 7 weeks of LOST REVENUE

Fixed operating expenses have not stalled or ended.  The average non-payroll fixed operating expenses per studio is $3300 ($6600 per month for 2 Studios).    Our studios are different than membership based studios that have clients locked into recurring contracts and money continuing to flow in.  G-Werx only generate sales when clients are in the studio using training sessions and then consequently purchasing new service packages.

The $6600 figure is only for critical expenses - rent, insurance, internet/cable/phone, electric and gas utilities and point of sale system subscription fees.   The expenses we can and have suspended include advertising, print materials, office and janitorial supplies, maintenance, window washing, music services, etc..

What have we done to help ourselves?

1.  Applied for unemployment benefits  - one owner/operators denied benefits; one approved 8 weeks later.
2.  Researched Minneapolis Gap Funding  - not eligible because studios are not in the eligible zip codes.
3.  Applied for SBA Emergency Injury Disaster Loan  $10,000 Grant-  applied April 1st - $1000 funded April 23
4.  Contacted our Insurance Agent for Coverage - denied, no coverage for virus pandemics.

Our one success so far has been the Paycheck Protection Program

The downtown studio working in conjuction with Bridgewater Bank  was able to secure funding to cover April and May payroll.  The SW Minneapolis working did secure funding through the second round of funding.  This funding covers 2 months of payroll but does not cover all other operating expenses that continue during the closure.

If need be, we will have to take out loans and repay them with interest.  We are hoping to obtain grants, donations and forgivable loans first.  Please help if you can and if you believe fitness is important to you and others!
