Armina, Mario and Miguilito were the American dream family. Armina and Mario came from El Salvador 20 years ago, became citizens, and adopted Little Michael 15 years ago and worked very hard to care for their child. Armina is one of my co-workers who worked as a medical assistant here at Catholic Charities. Sadly all three developed COVID-19 4 weeks ago but Mario (the dad) was hit hardest. He died last Thursday May 7, 2020. He was in his early 60's. He was the main bread winner. Armina is now unable to work because her chronic polycystic kidneys has led to renal failure and now she requires dialysis twice weekly. She was preparing for a kidney transplant last year when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Little Michael is presently a freshman at Damatha Highschool. Armina and Mario worked hard so Miguilito could go to an excellent high school, but now that Mario has died Armina has lost her health insurance, most likely will lose her home and will not be able to afford to pay for Miguilitos tuition due to her inability to work secondary to kidney failure and breast cancer.
Where will your kind donation go to?
The money will go to assist in Armina's healthcare, assistance to pay for their mortgage so they do not lose their home and Miguilitos tuition.
The medical staff here at the Catholic Charities DC clinic are most grateful for anything you can give to help this beautiful family whom we love very much.
Yours gratefully,
