Guadalupe Flood Relief - Hunt, TX

My name is Brian Gourley, and I live in Austin, Texas. In 1993, I was a counselor at Camp Stewart in Hunt, Texas. Back then, I had no idea how deeply that land, that river, and that community would shape my life. It became a cornerstone — a place that centered me, rooted me, and brought me lifelong friendships with campers, staff, and families in the area.

The recent floods along the Guadalupe River have devastated that community. Lives have been lost — including a dear friend — and many families have lost their homes, possessions, and in some heartbreaking cases, their children.

I’m organizing this GoFundMe to support flood relief efforts in Hunt and surrounding communities. I’ll be on the ground delivering emergency supplies and aid, and 100% of donations will go directly toward:

Purchasing and delivering critical supplies (water, food, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, tools)

Temporary housing or shelter support (including hotel stays or rent)

Rebuilding efforts (construction materials, home repair)

Support for local camps and impacted community organizations

I will be receiving the donations personally and using them to meet verified, urgent needs in real time. While many recipients understandably prefer to remain anonymous, I will document how funds are spent through photos, supply receipts, updates, and general impact summaries — always with respect for people’s privacy.
