Speech Therapy in Guadalajara, MX
Donation protected
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Chapter at Albizu University, Miami Campus is raising money for a mission project in an orphanage in Guadalajara, Mexico! The students of the Master in Science in Speech Language Pathology of the university will be providing speech therapy services to children with physical and cognitive impairments who have difficulty communicating.
Our intervention will include the use of low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices (i.e., communication board, communication book) to the children living in an orphanage. Our mission will provide them with the means to improve their language and facilitate them with the ability to convey messages for functional and primary needs communication.
In order to accomplish this goal, we need to raise at least $6500 to cover airfare for round-trip flights, equipment, materials, housing, food, and transportation.
Please take the time to consider life without the ability to express your basic needs, to be voiceless, and to be trapped within your own mind. All donations will be purely towards this mission in order to provide these individuals with the blessing of the ability to communicate; a basic human right that no one should live without.
