This is a sad story. This is a story of hope.
Missy fought cancer for almost 6 years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33, and after completing surgery, chemo, and radiation, she was in remission, only to then be diagnosed with ovarian cancer less than a year later. After multiple attempts at treatment, her ovarian cancer was found to be chemo resistant and widely metastatic. Missy fought every day; she fought with tenacity, strength, dignity, and unending courage. She fought for more time to love her partner of 7 years, Shellie. She fought to make amazing memories with her 4 year old son, Owen. Missy's battle ended on Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was 38 years old.
Missy always dreamed of her son Owen going to college (preferably Ohio State), and the financial strain of her illness depleted her savings. Any help in making her dream come true would be greatly appreciated.
