Racing for Awareness

Darren is a 32 year old suffering from kidney failure.  Unfortunately, this is Darren's second time battling this disease.  On January 2, 2006, he received a kidney from his brother.  Today, Darren's body is now rejecting the kidney.  As a result, he has to give himself Peritoneal Dialysis four times a day; However, this being his second time battling this disease, Darren is determined not to let it defeat him.  In March 2014, Darren became an avid fourwheeler racer and is now a member of the Mid-East Hare Scramblers, a regional racing team.  
Darren Heistorborg is a person with alot of heart and strength.  He is teaching people, no matter what you have been dealt, you can defeat all odds.

Darren started a foundation called Racing for Awareness to inspire others battling illnesses and/or life's struggles, like his first race inspired him.
