Donation protected
WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Wyatt (14), Zachary(12), and Kelly (10) Lost their Mama today, four days before Christmas 2020. Joey has lost his beloved partner in life far too soon.
Lisa had been given a grim 4 months left in her relentless fight with cancer. In a matter of a few days, she is gone. Please Pray for these sweet children and for Joey. For strength and comfort as they navigate this horrific loss. If you feel called to support the unexpected funeral costs, please give here. Or contact me if you prefer to send directly to Joey. Whether it's $10 or sharing this prayer request, please know that every little bit helps and is sincerely appreciated.

With a very heavy heart,
We must share that the Nause family has hit another gloomy setback in their tragic fight with cancer. Lisa, Joe, and their three young children defeated breast cancer back in the spring of 2019. Or so they thought. With all the tragedy 2020 has brought, nothing comes so closely heartbreaking as this. Lisa's cancer has spread. Her future is uncertain. This news came after Lisa went to the doctor with great pain and difficulty breathing. She learned the cancer had spread to her lungs. We ask you to keep this family in your prayers and thoughts. Pray over her devoted husband and three young children who are now 10, 12, and 14. While Lisa is very ill, Wyatt, the oldest, refuses to leave her sight. Holding her hand in the rare moments she is strong enough to leave her bed and spend time with the family. Please help us provide comfort to them as the future is so uncertain. Medical bills are astronomical and we all know the holidays are a stressful time financially. Any little bit helps. We just pray Lisa, Joe, and their three children know, they are NOT fighting alone.
With Love,

TWO HOMES LOST:
In 2006, my brother lost everything he owned in Hurricane Katrina. The hurricane leveled his apartment complex and swept everything he owned into the ocean. He also lost his job and had to relocate further inland. Then in 2013 his family lost everything again when a category 4 tornado touched down and destroyed their home. Again, Joe and Lisa rebuilt their life knowing that material possessions mean little if the people you love are healthy and safe.
LISA'S DIAGNOSIS:
Now, Lisa has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at a moment when she was uninsured. In the past few months Lisa, Joe, and their three young children have braved chemotherapy and Lisa will be undergoing surgery very soon. Lisa is a no nonsense, tough, New York native who moved to Mississippi to raise her family. She is going to kick cancer’s ass, but desperately needs time to care for herself and heal. She always puts her family first and is a devoted mother but this illness has prevented her from being with her family and prevented her from working. Joe (who is self-employed) has been doing everything he can to support his family, but the medical bills are becoming too much.
ABOUT MY BROTHER:
If you know my brother, then you know it is almost impossible not to have a smile on your face when you are around him. Joe is always smiling! Always joking! Always laughing! He demands joy and positivity out of life even when the silver lining is impossible to find. A few years ago we lost our brother very suddenly. Even though Joe was suffering the loss of his best friend he held us all together with his tender heart, his humor, and his unbreakable spirit. He told us all, in our darkest of moments, to look to the bright and shiny people in our lives, to hold on to the people who fill us with light and give us meaning because it will be those people who will provide us with the moments (the sparks) that will penetrate the grief, begin the healing, and help us find our way out into the light again. He was right.
SO NOW..
I am creating this Go Fund Me to support Joe and Lisa because they could REALLY use a break and Lisa needs to focus on getting well. But I’m also doing this for my brother because I know it is really freaking hard to stay positive all the time. It would be easier for him to use his energy to complain, to spend less time being jovial and more time wallowing, but that isn’t Joe. He keeps his heart light and tender even at its heaviest. This isn't a trait that gives any sort of monetary return in this sometimes hard and unfair world, but his uplifting spirit is a gift that literally breathes life into the people around him. I know it has me. So if you know how brave and strong Lisa has been through all this and want to help a mom of 3 feel supported, please give here. Or if Joe has ever made you laugh when you didn't feel like it or if this family reminds you of people in your life please think about giving here. Anything is welcome! I hope this campaign reminds them that they are not alone and that others are here to uplift them when they need it most.
