We are thrilled to share some remarkable news with you. Following some initial challenges and setbacks, we have successfully reinstated the program. The initiative has shown remarkable promise with 15 players already as members. Despite being in its early stages, we have managed to provide full gear to all players, including mallets, jerseys, and helmets. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our players' contributions as well as generous donations from the USPA and US Polo Assn. We're also deeply thankful to Georgetown University for their support, recognizing that they already shoulder numerous responsibilities and our coach, Gustavo Fraga-Errecart.
We are reaching out for your support in our fundraising campaign for the 2023-2024 season to help cover the costs of various aspects vital to the operations and growth of the club.
Currently, our primary financial challenge lies in the cost of practices, which averages around $800 per session, covering expenses for horses and transportation as well as Nationals. We currently conduct one or two practices a week tailored to meet our players' different levels of experience. Our ultimate goal with our practices as well as qualifying matches (e.g Harvard, UVA...) is to excel during Nationals in March and April 2024. We are raising $30,000 to help cover our necessities. Allocation of funds would be as follows:
- Practices: $12,500
- Nationals: $10,000 (Horses/Accomodation)
- Traveling/Horses/Accomodation upcoming matches (Yale, Kentucky, Cornell, Vtech): $7,500
Once received, the funds will be deposited into the Club bank account. Note further that all spending of these funds raised requires approval from the Club Treasurer, President and our coach. This ensures that the funds are applied appropriately and equitably for the Club.
Thank you very much for your support! We are looking forward to an exciting season for the team! Go Hoyas!
