Raising $ for Rosie!

Donation protected
Rosie (a.k.a. Rose, Rosebud, or Good Girl) is a loving German Shepherd that was born on July 16th, 2017 and shortly after she was adopted by Hope Charleton and Austin Fouse.

This big clumsy pup loves trying to be a lap dog, tipping over her food bowl before starting a meal, and howling to tell you how much she loves you! She also likes to be a little sister and annoy her big brother Koda by taking away his toys...

A Message From Hope:

"Oh Rosie, where do I even begin? You are smart, sassy, loyal, clever, beautiful and you have so much love in your heart!"

"We are asking for thoughts and prayers for Rosie she was hit by a car yesterday afternoon and long story short she will be in surgery tomorrow for leg amputation. She is so strong and we will get through this together."

On Monday, October 15th, 2018 Rosie was struck by a car at around 1:45 p.m., Nick and I heard the sound from the accident and hurried outside to make sure the dogs wouldn't go out into the street to explore the wreckage.

I called for Koda and he hesitated to come in,  then I called for Rosie.

I shouted her name and whistled for a minute or two, but I never heard the jingle that her dog tag makes when she is running towards you.

Worried that the worst had happened, I headed down toward the street.

My fears were confirmed.

A couple of thoughtful bystanders, and the person who accidentally hit Rosie, helped as much as they could to make her comfortable until Hope arrived.

We then took Rosie to the nearest animal hospital where they immediately began to stabilize her and treat her for the smaller wounds.

However after sedating her and taking x-rays, the medical professionals quickly realized that her left hind leg's femur was fractured in five places (rendering her leg useless).

After Rosie was transferred to an emergency vet facility that was better equipped to deal with her injuries, Austin and Hope were faced with difficult decisions in the face of a completely unforeseeable event.

Fortunately, after hours of deliberation, the attending doctor let us know that an amputation could be cheaper and that dogs are very resilient in terms of amputation.

We are asking for any amount that you can spare to go towards the cost of Rosie's amputation and subsequent recovery. We also appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers for Rosie at this time. ❤

If you could take the time to donate and/or share it would help Austin, Hope, and Rosie immensely!

Thank you,
