Stella Strong

Hi Family and Friends,

For those of you who have grew-up in Lorain, Elyria, or the surrounding areas, you know the Ternes Family. They are a very dedicated family of educators and coaches who have impacted many lives. They are truly amazing people.

Brad and Laura's daughter, Stella, is just like the rest of the family. She is a sweet girl, who likes to spend time with her brother and cousin. She volunteers her time at a camp in the summer for students with special needs. She is getting ready to go into the ninth grade in the fall. She has also had multiple heart surgeries, even an intervention before she was born to make her heart stronger.

A couple months ago, Stella started to experience some episodes that were a sign that her family needed to get her into the doctor. This week, they found out that our sweetheart Stella needs her Aortic valve in her heart replaced and three other valves in her heart repaired.

Stella and her family are strong, but this is a lot on their family. She is missing her 8th grade field trip to Washington D.C., because the doctors said the procedure needs to be done in Boston right away. Brad is a teacher and coach, so closing for the end of the year became a little bit more stressful. On top of planning to go to Boston for their family of four for about two weeks, they also had to plan to take Grandpa and Grandma Ternes too, to help with Jack, who has Autism, so he can be with his mom, dad, and sister, at this time.

When a few of us started to discuss how we can help our friends, we decided that it takes a village to raise a family. They will have to fly to Boston, stay in hotels, and eat. This can add up to thousands of dollars. We would like to help ease the financial burden, so they can focus on Stella healing and their family. This was very sudden and the Ternes family could use our support during this time. We appreciate it.
