On December 28th, The Greer family was faced with the news that their sweet little 3 year old Gemma had a large tumor on her kidney. It is believed to be a Wilms' Tumor, which is a rare childhood cancer. They were immediately sent from Helena, MT to Salt Lake City for treatment and are there now awaiting her surgery on Monday. In addition to the diagnostics and surgery, Gemma will then undergo anywhere from 19 to 30 weeks of chemotherapy which will require weekly traveling as it is not available in Helena. In addition to all of this, Ruby (mom) will most likely choose to stay home to care for Gemma through all of this. Between medical costs and losing one income, they are in need of much support, financially and also in need of prayers and positive thoughts as they take on this battle with their sweet baby girl.
