Golden Terrace Elem Odyssey

On March 4th a group of seven 4th and 5th graders from Golden Terrace Elementary went to our Regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition. They worked on their presentation since September. The worked so hard and did so well that they came in 2nd place and qualified to go to the Florida State Competition in Orlando on April 8th! 

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. 

Now that our students did so much hard work to qualify for the state competition, we need to raise money for a two night stay in Orlando. Golden Terrace Elementary, one of the largest elementary schools in our district, is located in Golden Gate City. We are a Title I school where 92% of our families are economically needy. We are trying to raise money to offset the cost of the hotel rooms, meals, and transportation for our families.
