Hi, my name is Cristiano and I'm fundraising in order to help alleviate the suffering of people in Southern Brazil. I was born and raised in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul, where all this unprecendented catasthophe is taking place. I am a Canadian citizen and have been living in Canada for almost 8 years now, where I work as a Emergency Medical Services Helicopter Pilot. Ironically, as a frontline rescue worker, I'm watching helplessly my hometown and its citizens being slashed by this tragedy. Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding, leaving HUNDREDS OF TOWNS under water and MORE THAN 150,000 PEOPLE displaced from their homes. Further heavy rains forecast for this week are expected to exacerbate the situation in the region. Many residents had to leave their homes, with some of the most vulnerable people evacuated by rescue workers (civil and military).

- Civil Search and Rescue entities who are operating 24/7 tirelessly on the frontline ;
- Veterinarians and Animal shelters who are helping to rescue, host, feed and treat our furry friends;
- Institutions who are sheltering displaced and vulnerable people who have lost their houses;
- Counselours and well-being professionals actuating direcly on the frontline, helping vulnerable people (including children).
