Hi, my name is Kara, and my sister, Colleen Posner, has been battling stage 4 breast cancer that went to the bones in 2018. She has been doing very well and even got a good report last month that the lesion's on her bones were showing signs of being nearly dormant.
She had been complaining of back pain for several weeks, but had attributed it to isolated activities', and she figured it would go away. Until last Friday, when she woke up and couldn't get out of bed and had to have my mom come over and help. After two trips to the hospital, two MRI's and appointments with her oncologist and radiologist, it was decided that she needs to undergo 10 day's of radiation treatments beginning today, 12/18/2023, and will continue until Jan 4th, so basically the entire Christmas and New Year season. Being that it is Christmas week, we're all praying and hoping that her body will respond well so that she can enjoy her grandchildren and family during this fun filled celebratory week.
For those of you who know my sister, she is always the one who is there for others and her family, and the life of the party. So this will be very difficult on her. If you ask her how you can help, she will most likely say nothing just pray, which I echo and invite. However, I asked her how much the radiation treatment will cost and she said $7,800 is their out of pocket expense, and the trips last week are out of pocket since they hadn't met their deductible of $6,000.
If any of you reading this would be willing to consider a donation to help support my sister and her husband during this special time of year, I know it would bring much needed relief. If you know me, I'm not much of one to send these kinds of requests, but I felt a strong conviction to get the word out there and help support my sister, who I love so much, in any way I can. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. My your Christmas holiday be full of love, peace and joy. And if you have siblings, love on them a little more.
Blessings,
