Silent Knight for a special family

I have a special "silent knight" request for a very special family. Marco and Francisco Vazquez, 2 of our very own knights, lost their mother this morning to a long battle with ALS. When I first began teaching Marco, I learned just how much love this student has for others. Instead of running on our school's cross country team, Marco would go home every day to help take care of his mother. Marco very quickly gained the name "Marco Polo" (because I teach him in world history) and always makes me laugh at the end of my day in 7th period. Little did I know at first that a child that always comes in to class smiling had a lot going on in his own personal life that I could never begin to imagine going through. Marco and his brother worked as a team to help provide care for their mother, to take care of their sibilings, and gave up many things because they wanted to be their for their mother and knew that, that was what was important to them. Financially, the family has struggled greatly due to mom not being able to work and dad taking lots of time off of work to help provide care.
I ask that all of us as a Oneunknightednation come together during this extremely painful time in this family's life and show them how much we care about them. The holidays are coming up and Marco does have younger sibilings. As this family is struggling emotionally, and mentally with the death of their mother they are also struggling financially as we all know medical expenses, funeral expenses, etc are so expensive. Any little donation would be so greatly appreciated and I know this family could truly deserve some happiness in a dark time. I could not even imagine the pain a child feels when their mother passes away, and going through their first holiday season without her. All proceeds from this campaign will go straight to this beautiful family. We are hoping this can take care of some of those expenses and to provide a nice Thanksgiving/Christmas for the family. We will be surprising the family in a few weeks with the money raised in this campaign.
