Field Trips

I have been teaching for 23 years. What really gets to me is the lack of background knowledge My students have.  Overall, my students are bright 6th graders that are eager to learn.  I want to widen their horizons so they can see there is more to Illinois  than just their neighborhood. I hope to raise enough money so my co-teacher and I can take the students on  at least 2 field trips this year. I would like to start planning to go on a field trip as soon as possible. I'm asking for your help because many of our students cannot afford to go on field trips. I would love to be able to take my students to a trip to Starve Rock and simply remove each of them from the city for the entire day. Raising this money would not just mean the world to me but would mean the world to 52 6th grade students.
