Hey y'all! I NEED YOUR HELP!
On December 22, 2020, I was stabbed/ slashed in the back of my head by a stranger I had never seen or met, outside the Franklin Ave stop off the C train in bed-stuy brooklyn. :/ I WAS NOT ALONE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I was with two girlfriends at the time. There was no apparent reason why this man did this to me, but to just do it. A random act of violence. One of those "wrong place, wrong time" scenarios.
I was taken by ambulance to Kings County Hospital and my treatment included : shaving a part of my head, 9 sutures sewn into my skull, a tetanus shot, antibiotic shots, a CAT-SCAN, morphine (which had almost made me overdose) and 2 subsequent IV bags and some heavy dose nausea pill to reverse the harmful effects of the morphine (which included throwing up for 5 hours).
Although a traumatic and scary experience, I feel so blessed and incredibly thankful that those were the only injuries I sustained. There were many factors that could've contributed to a more fatal outcome. Instead I was able to walk away with my little bald spot and a crazy story....
Currently, I owe 15,000 dollars in medical expenses from the treatment I received at Kings County that day. Not to mention the host of other expenses I've gained in due because of my trauma. Although I hope to get this bill reduced through the Victims Compensation Act and my insurance, I am not guaranteed that the entirety of this cost will be covered. With your contributions I would like to use this GoFundMe to cover my hospital bill, and be able to allocate the rest of the funds towards self defense classes, PTSD therapy, and ubers/lyfts to ensure my safe travels-- I've developed such paralyzing anxiety that I've completely stopped taking public transportation and walking outside. Although this is a negative situation, I would like to conquer the negativity and find positivity through it, and emerge stronger.
I am so grateful for any contributions even if its 10cents, or for those who cannot contribute but who are willing to share my gofundme.
I hope everyone stays safe, and remain vigilant
Luv ,
Sammy ( ˘ ³˘)♥
