My name is Patricia and I am a friend of John and Pam's. On Friday John was admitted into the hospital with perforated diverticulitis and had to undergo emergency surgery, he will then have another surgery in about three months. Total recovery time will be 6 months; for a small business owner that does personal training this will be financially devastating. He has a great staff and an even better wife that can take on most of his clients however he will lose a substantial part of income in this shift, estimate about 45-60% whenever a client moves to another trainer. Add to that a $4,500 deductable, 20% of the remaining out of pocket for two major surgeries, two ER visits and it starts to add up. I put a target of $20K, I hope it is enough...
For those of you that know John well, he is always giving, always helping, always paying it forward. Whenever I walk into the gym he is raising money for a charity, for somebody in need, running a race for the needy, you name it, helping however he can. Now it is time to help John. John and Pam would never ask for help so I am going to do it for them.
Last night after the tears were shed for relief that it wasn't cancer, that he wasn't going to die, that he was going to live, then there were tears about how the business was going to survive, how they were going to make it. They are proud, they are strong, and they will never ask for help, they will be upset with me for doing this, John is very prideful. Let's please help them get through this together so they can heal physically, mentally and spiritually and not have to fiscally worry.
I am thankful for your consideration and that I will be moving to California in June before John's full recovery so he can't kick my ass for doing this.
Warm Regards,
Patricia Babka
