Bring my nephews body home

Hi my name is Ashly and I’m fundraising for my sister to help her bring her baby boy back home for a funeral and memorial service. We live in Des Moines but he was shot and killed in Glendale AZ just hours ago. His name is Brandon Tukes and he was loved by so many people. He is only 23 and leaves behind many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc… But the most tragically of all, he leaves behind one son who he had plans to meet in person for the first time but now unfortunately his little mini me will never get the chance to meet his dad. Brandon was so proud of having a son and would FaceTime his sons mom everyday to see his baby.

Brandon was a star football player in high school who later on went to college in South Dakota majoring in criminal justice with aspirations to become a police officer which is why he moved to Arizona. That’s where he wanted to make a difference.

Brandon what’s the was a very polite, intelligent, articulate, well spoken young man who left long lasting positive first impressions on anyone who met him. Brandon had a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. He knew how to brighten anyone’s day and was a role model to many kids including my little ones. But it’s his little brothers who look up to him the most and need him in ways no one else could fill the position of being as their father passed away when they were all very young. Brandon had so much potential and had big goals for himself that included making sure his family was going to be taken care of because that’s where his heart was… his family. He loved his family and would go to any length for us.

We all are beyond heartbroken and devastated but it’s nothing in comparison to what his mom, my sister Monica, is going through right now. Brandon was her first born out of 5 boys and was ultimately her best friend. We need all the help we can get to help her bring his body home to be laid to rest or for cremation. Times have been unfortunately difficult recently for us all financially and we desperately need anything we get get to bring him home and to bring closure to his family. God bless
