GSU Roller Derby League

Today, Roller derby is much different from what people remember seeing on TV years ago. It's one of the few women's sports that is full body contact which, in turn, makes it an empowering sport for women teaching body positivity and self-confidence. Our names are Ruby “Lucky Harms” Vaughn and Alexis “ChipHer” Robinson. We are former Atlanta Junior Roller Derby members who are now attending Georgia State University and are looking for funding to make a college level derby league a reality. We are currently working with the school on all the necessary steps to form a sports club and we need your help to fund for equipment, practice space, and other miscellaneous costs we may have in order to make the team possible. Our hope for the future is to expand the derby community and make college-level derby a sanctioned league of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Another hope for our league is to provide a positive outlet to find support, empowerment, and relieve stress in these pivotal years of our lives as young adults.
