Mental Health Awareness Week Bags!
We're raising money for Action on Postpartum Psychosis!
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2018, staff at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Women's Services department will be handing out "self-care packs" to staff, to remind them that self-care is important to combat stress in the workplace and to allow a little treat for all important self-care!
The packs are free to enjoy, but we wanted to give people the opportunity to donate if they wanted to. We ran a similar initiative on Time to Talk Day earlier in the year and many people asked where they could donate to a relevant charity. So, this time you can!
APP say "PP is a severe mental illness which begins suddenly following childbirth. Symptoms include hallucinations and delusions, often with mania, depression or confusion. Over 1400 women experience PP each year in the UK (1 to 2 in every 1000 mothers). An episode of PP can be very frightening for women and their families. Most women go on to make a full recovery, however the journey to full recovery can be long and difficult.."
