World Finale Dance Competition

Satin Dolls Dance Company/Team is a community dance group from Ferriday Louisiana. The Satin Dolls were founded May 10, 2014. The Satin Dolls have 3 different dance groups ranging between the ages of 5 to 18(In School). The Purpose for starting this Dance Company/Team in our community is to bring forth unity amongst young girls that has a passion for dance. The Satin Dolls are taught not only different styles of dances, but having fun while doing something they love, along with the importance of working as a team, building sisterhood, being positive role models, having self respect as well as respect for others and also having self motivation to reach goals they set and aim for. The team of young ladies have be given opportunities to compete against other dancers and attend dance conventions to instill that confidence and determination needed to WIN, not only in competitions but WIN also in life by knowing that hard work and dedication pays off in every aspect of life, whether their future plans are to become professional dancers/teachers, Educational Leaders or Doctors. Promoting not only dance, the Satin Dolls participate in several community out reach initiatives all the while, we as coaches are encouraging the dancers to excel academically and amongst their peers. Ferriday Louisiana proudly boasts “SD4L” from coast to coast as their dolls illuminate the dance floor. Since started, the Satin Dolls have competed and won numerous 1st place awards. Although they started with humble accommodations, it’s their humility that allows this team of young dancers to transform into a POWERHOUSE when they hit the dance floor. The Satin Dolls have become the shining stars of a meek community. True Diamonds in the rough, Satin Dolls are a valuable asset, not only in their community but all around the world; showing young girls that life is but a dance floor and equipping them with all the right moves.

Satin Dolls Competed at the Majorette Championship Nationals in New Orleans, La on November 15, 2015, winning not only the Overall Grand Champion Title but also bids to compete at the WHHMC World Finale in ORLANDO, FL the week of July 25-28, 2016. In order to make this trip possible for a group of young girls that have worked hard to get to this point, we are asking for your support. The funds will be used towards Transportation, Food and Lodging, as well as Dance Uniforms and neccessites.
