Greg's Story...dictated to his mom...
I was riding a side by side rhino in a horse pasture with a couple friends on ATV’s, in Cameron Park on November 1st. While trying to get between a bush and a fence post, I hit the fence post with the front right tire.  The next thing I knew I was laying on my stomach, I saw my left arm, it looked broken, but I could not feel any pain.  I then heard Coby and Jared race up to me, hopped off their ATV’s and lift the roll cage off me (my neck). Coby then tried to get me to speak, but I could not respond.  Then Coby told me to spit, as I had a mouth full of blood.  I could barely spit.  I then heard Coby tell Jared to call 911 and as soon as Jared gave the operator the address I passed out.  I woke up to the sound of a helicopter and the EMT’s laying me on the backboard. I was not freaking out, but laid there and was very relaxed.  The EMT’s realized I had woken up, they tried to get me to speak to them, and I still could not talk, but could respond by blinking my eyes.  As we were walking to the helicopter, they told me to close my eyes, to protect from the prop wash.  They loaded me on and I was awake the entire flight, looking out at the cloudy sky.  Half way through the trip, I had a very uncomfortable feeling in my throat and mouth.  I then began to push the tube out with my tongue and teeth.  The flight nurse noticed and quickly removed it for me.  He then asked me if I knew what was going on and if I could respond, and I was able to talk.  When we landed at the hospital I remember being moved to ER, where I underwent X-rays, CT scans and interviews by doctors and sheriffs.  At that point I took a nap.  Later that evening I was transferred to the trauma/ICU and had my MRI.
