GSP Rescue of New Mexico is a non profit charity dedicated to the rescue of homeless German Shorthaired Pointers in New Mexico.
We are a small rescue funded entirely through our personal monies and greatly appreciated donations from supporters and adopters.
Our rescue program accepts GSPs from shelters and other rescue organizations in New Mexico, and when possible, from owners who can no longer care for their
dogs. In these hard economics times, rescue is called upon more often than ever before for help.

Each dog is fostered in a home setting and given training, TLC, proper nutrition and complete veterinary care including spay/neuters, all vaccinations and Rabies, Heart-worm testing and monthly preventatives, all testing for tick-borne diseases and dental care when needed. All the dogs are micro-chipped.
Many dogs come to rescue requiring a lot of care, and in some cases, treatment for on-going health issues or injuries.

Once our dogs have been fully vetted, had proper basic
training and have been assessed to be adoptable, they are offered for adoption to qualified homes. Potential
adopters must complete an adoption application and provide veterinary and personal references. They are interviewed via phone and email and then are visited in their homes to make sure that they will be a good match for one of our dogs and can provide the proper care,
security and love. Every measure is taken to match the right dog with the right home. Adoption contracts are required and GSP Rescue of NM provides back-up
support for the dog for his/her lifetime.
