Accessible Van Fund

*UPDATE*

In the last month our vehicle that had the lift attached to it stop working and is unable to be repaired. My family luckily has a way to get around thanks to family helping out with that. Unfortunately, the new vehicle they are using isn't able to have the lift attached and the lift has started malfunctioning as it is. Therefore, I'm stuck at home indefinitely until I'm able to afford an accessible vehicle.

Right now, we are dependent on renting an accessible vehicle if I'm in absolute need to go anywhere and that can be expensive to do often. The vehicle I would need to get is way out of our budget and I am struggling with being stuck at home. I'm grateful that I'm at least able to go outside but it's put a strain on my mental health being in the same place every single day.

I want to say thank you to all who have given already and to those who will give in the future. Your kindness will never be forgotten and it will always be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

My name is Steven Teal and this fundraiser is to help me finally get an accessible van. We currently have a lift on our only car for my wheelchair and getting in and out of the car has become much more difficult with our vehicle having a lot of issues lately with the lift and I’m unable to go anywhere without that functioning. This means missing events with my family and not getting to make memories with my wife and 3 children.

We have wanted to get an accessible van for a long time but the cost of accessible vehicles is very high and not an attainable goal for the next 2 or 3 years. The funds received will be put towards a down payment for an accessible van that will allow me to enter and exit the vehicle much easier and do so safely. It will also give me a little more independence. It would mean a lot to me to have this dream finally realized. 

This will allow me to drive places on my own and be more independent. Right now, I have to depend on my wife to take me anywhere I want to go. If she is out of town or at work, I am simply stuck at home.
