As some of the people closest to me may be familiar, my grandmother, Ute Mahr, is someone who has been affected by Dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease but is a general term for someone who has an impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interfere with everyday activities. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia. There is no cure to this horrific disease and more than 3 million Americans are affected every year!
