Hi All,
Some of you may already know, Stephanie was recently diagnosed with pancreatic and bile duct cancer with a tumor on the head of her pancreas. She obtained two opinions and decided to go with Froedtert. She started her chemo and is half-way through her 4-month process. After the 4 months of chemo, she then faces 5-6 weeks of daily radiation treatments at the hospital.
After all that, she has to have a very intensive operation called a Whipple Procedure. This operation removes the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine, the gallbladder (recently removed - that's how they found the cancer) and the bile duct. The remaining organs are rerouted and reattached to allow a person to digest food normally after surgery. After the operation, she faces 2 weeks in the hospital and then a 3-month recovery at home.
The poor girl is facing a tough upward battle. She and her 15-year old son are keeping a positive outlook though. She is doing her best to work remotely for her first shift job, but had to quit her bartending job at The Open Flame which, of course, is a great loss of income for her.
Any well wishes to brighten Stephanie’s day or financial assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Thank you,
