I was told, “Let’s wait and see what Brian says” when I told Rachel that I was going to start a “go fund me” for Brian. To which I replied, “We both know that he would never agree to it and I’m not asking”. Most people never want to be in a situation where they have to ask for help. Brian Reed is no exception. In fact, for as long as I’ve known him, he’s always the one helping others in big and small ways. He’s a man of God, husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He’s the provider and protector of his family. He takes care of my sister like no one else can. Brian is well known throughout the communities for his selfless role as the creator and leader (next to Rachel of course ;) of NWFYSA. He gives hours upon hours of his time to direct the local and surrounding areas in REC League football (15 parks!). Brian is an amazing man, to say the least. You’ll never know if Brian isn’t feeling well because he doesn’t complain and he continues to go to work everyday to support his family. Day or night he’s there for his family and whatever need they have. He also never leaves that football cell phone unattended and is there to put out any fire that might come up.
October 2018, Brian was diagnosed with kidney cancer. That November, doctors removed his kidney. The recovery was hard but you’d never hear him complain. Here we are, not even a year later and he’s fighting cancer again. The procedures have been done and biopsy has been sent out. We are awaiting the results of it being either metastatic renal cell or lung cancer. Today, Brian has his first Keytruda infusion. It is an immuno therapy. This will help fight either type of cancer. Keytruda is very expensive. It’s so expensive that Brian’s copayment for his infusion every three weeks is $2000. They are unsure of the timeframe in which he will have to get the infusion. I am asking for him and Rachel because they would never ask and they need our help. Would you please consider donating to help Brian get what he needs to fight this cancer? If anything, would you please pray for him and his family? From the bottom of my heart, I truly thank all who have shared this, prayed, and/or donated. God’s blessings to all.
