I’m reaching out to ask for help for my family during an incredibly tough time.

A fire recently broke out at my parents’ home while no one was there. Thankfully, a quick-thinking neighbor was able to get the dogs out safely, and firefighters rescued the cats. While we’re beyond grateful that all lives — human and animal — were saved, the damage to the home and everything inside is heartbreaking.

My mom, dad, and siblings lost so much — their comfort, their belongings, and their sense of normalcy. To make things even more difficult, my mom recently cut back on work to start nursing school and pursue her dream of helping others. This tragedy has turned their world upside down, and they’re now facing the challenge of cleaning up, replacing essentials, and starting to rebuild.

We’re starting off by raising $5,000 to help with immediate needs like temporary housing, food, clothing, basic essentials, and beginning the recovery process. Insurance will help, but it won’t cover everything — especially not the unexpected costs that come with something like this.
