Hey everyone,

I'm sad to say that Luna has been diagnosed with oral cancer. I brought her in to have some lumps removed a little while ago, and during the surgery they ended up having to remove some of her teeth along with a new lump in her mouth. The dang thing turned out to be cancerous, as a biopsy recently revealed, so now she's going back in for another round of testing. They'll be x-raying her mouth to find the extent of the cancer, and if they think they can remove it all safely while she's asleep for the x-rays - they will. But if not, they'll send her results off to specialists to see what they say.

I recently moved to Vancouver Island because I couldn't afford to live in the city anymore, and debt was piling up while work was getting slimmer. So my financial situation was already fragile before Luna's vet bills starting piling up.

Luckily vet bills are cheaper in rural areas, but when you're already using credit to buy groceries, they are devastating.
She doesn't have insurance, unfortunately, when my ex-wife and I first adopted her she was a two year old rescue who had been through some shit.
The quotes we received all ranged in the 400 - 700 a month range - so we opted to just make rainy day funds instead.

Currently she is 12 years old. Besides the cancer, Luna's health is amazing. A touch of arthritis in her back legs that I manage with monthly injections. I'm not ready to give up on her yet.

If we're lucky, they can just remove a small piece of her jaw and that will be the end of it.

I'm hoping to raise enough money to help with the surgeries.
