Help Save Spike the Bearded Dragon
Hi everyone,
I’m a support worker at a children’s home where we encourage our young people to care for pets, as they provide comfort, routine, and emotional support—especially for mental health. One of our young people has a beloved baby bearded dragon named Spike, who means the world to him. She goes everywhere with him around the home and is truly part of our family.
Unfortunately, Spike recently injured her tail while being placed back in her enclosure. Despite multiple vet visits and rounds of medication, the injury has now become infected and is getting worse. Today, we were told that Spike needs the end of her tail amputated to stop the infection from spreading—this is her only chance of recovery.
The surgery will cost £700, and sadly, we don’t have the funds to cover it. Without this treatment, Spike’s life is at serious risk. Our young person is devastated, and we’re doing everything we can to help.
If you’re able to donate—even a small amount—it would mean the world to us. Every penny goes toward saving Spike and helping a young person keep his cherished companion.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
