Where does this story begin? Does it begin from my perspective nine years ago in my backyard when this vibrant, charismatic girl who wore obvious large sunglasses and red lipstick at 10am in the morning walked into my families life? Or does it begin 150 days ago when that same charismatic and vibrant woman walked into my kitchen and told me she found a lump in her breast?
When thinking how to create this campaign and if my words would be adequate, heartfelt and deserving enough to have been given such a touching and daunting task, I went to a place that has brought so much hope and strength to me the past 5 months. I went to Danielle Sharp's very own words. I went back to our conversations and her journal to be able to what I hope is eloquently implore you to donate to this amazingly phenomenal woman who we all call a friend.
Danielle is a 31 year old mother and soon to be wife who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in October 2015. To say she has been rocked to her core would be an understatement. To say her superhuman strength has not only empowered her through this journey but her loved ones would be admitting many of us wouldn't have a clue how to get our children to sleep without the powers that are "Danie the Nanny".
It was very early on in this journey, I asked Danielle how I could help her. In typical D form, " I've got this."
and you know what? She does? It's not in her gentics to ask for help, show weakness or throw in the towel. No. Not this phenomenal woman. However, her friends and family will do it for her. Her village, her tribe know it's time we ask for help to take the burden off this young mother and her family so they can focus on her path to remission and days filled with her son's giggles, planning her wedding to her amazing Fiancé and not letting worry about medical bills interrupt her warrior path to being cancer free Danielle's unwavering strength to fight this cancer has brought hope to all of us. Please help us in easing the burden just a bit for this absolutely beautiful woman.
