hi y'all! i'm charlot bee! i'm a mother. i work in the piercing industry. and i'm an active part of philly's queer/trans community and nightlife scene.

a week ago, while walking home from the train on 52nd st, i was sexually assualted on the street, just blocks away from my home. i've tried to not allow this to break me apart but as life's struggles have built around me, i've found it harder and harder to be what my family and community needs of me.

if you know me, you know that i've struggled with plenty of agoraphobic episodes throughout my transition simply due to the weight of being a black trans woman with a certain amount of visiblity and a dash of social anxiety. even before this, i have had traumatic sexual harassment on the streets that has made me question not only whether it's worth it to seek community but frankly whether existence is worth it at all for a girl like me. i really am desperate for some ease.

if i can met my goal, it would allow me the support to heal from this trauma while not having to struggle with the everyday battle of being a black trans mom under poverty.

my daughter starts school next week and needs school supplies and clothes. the rent's due soon. my family needs things for our home. groceries, bills, laser appointments, and other various needs are causing my mind to spiral in scary ways and it all feels unfair. if you can help me in this moment in my life, you'll have my most sincere gratitude. thank you for reading my story and for sharing this with your community.
