Monkey World is home to over 260 monkeys and apes, many of whom have been rescued from abuse and horrific neglect. At the park, they are rehabilitated to health and enjoy a safe, natural life.

Many of our monkeys need a diet rich in insects, which is a huge expense to the sanctuary. Live insects are nutritious, healthy and provide fantastic enrichment, as the monkeys can spend time foraging for waxworms, locusts & mealworms in their enclosures, displaying natural behaviours and occupying their intelligent minds!

We have requested donations of insects through our Amazon wishlist for many years, but as costs are rising on the site, we wanted to explore other ways to do so which would use our generous supporter’s funds more efficiently!

To this end, we have launched our “Grub Fund Me” page! We’ve set up a weekly order to ensure we get the best quality insects right on time for our guys' needs, and if you could help contribute towards these costs it would help us massively!

As with everyone in the UK at the moment, our costs are rising, and the energy bills alone are huge- so any small help towards something that directly improves the quality of our primates' lives would be fantastic.

We have run this for the past few years and been overwhelmed by the support we have recieved. We have just increased the total amount required to cover us for another 2 years, until Nov 2027. This would mark 40 years since Monkey World first opened its doors and started caring for primates in need. Please be a part of our story and help us to feed the monkeys in our care.
