I am a 7th grader at HOB and have been nominated to represent my school and community at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. By attending National Youth Leadership Forum Explore STEM, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential learning STEM Leadership and Exploration Program. As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with respected professionals in various fields while building relationships with students who will be my future colleagues. Attending this program will allow me to further my interest in Marine Biology as well as the sciences and reach my career goals of becoming a marine biologist. I maintain a 3.9 GPA as a gifted student; I am involved with our school dance team the Bucanettes, as the dance manager. Currently I hold first chair in band and have recently been awarded as a Take Stock in Children Scholar.

Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were in school and were unable to participate for lack of funds- that’s why I am here writing to you today.I am hoping you would be able to help big or small in any donation toward this experience of a lifetime. I am investing every dollar of my own money to make sure I do not miss this unique experience. In addition, through my family, friends, and neighbors, I have already raised $500.00 of my tuition cost.
