On May 25th, 2020, Minneapolis lost another one of it's vibrate black community members, George Floyd, at the hands of MPD (Minneapolis Police Dept). This senseless act of police brutality enacted a moment that has/is already changing the world. Our community, as well as communities globally, have worked together, demonstrating a common message - THIS NEEDS TO STOP - JUSTICE FOR ALL!! Many small businesses were damaged during this much-needed uprising but we are asking folx, once again, to come together and effect change by helping to rebuild these business communities.
GRRRL SCOUT has selected to support the following organizations with this crowdsourcing fund; The West Broadway Business and Area Coalition and SnapCo.
The Minneapolis Northside needs our help! The WBC has been tirelessly working to provide support, cleanup, and provide resources to its community members over the past week and continues to do so. It will be a long journey but they are committed to helping this community thrive once again. http://westbroadway.org/

In honor of pride month, and as added visibility for black trans and queer folx, we will also be raising money for SnapCo (Solutions Not Punishment Collaborative). SnapCo is a black, trans-led, board based collaborative working to end mass incarceration and the criminalization of folks in the black and trans community. They are taking practical steps to devest from local law enforcement and courts and are working to provide its community with the opportunity to grow and thrive without facing unfair barriers from the criminal and legal system.
