GARDEN TO A LITTLE FREEDOM!

Donation protected
Hi my name is Nikki and I was diagnosed with a debillitating disorder in 1995 for Panic Attacks with Agoraphobia.  I have been housebound off and on for years and months at a time over the last "20 YEARS".

I do manage to get out into my own yard for short periods of time throughout the day as a way of Exposure Therapy for myself which I have managed to gradually increase during the spring and summer but in order to be outside and want to stay outside, I need to have something to keep me preoccupied and productive with the little blocks of time that I manage to be able tolerate being out there!  Things that make me the happiest while out there are the ability to see animals, gardening, photography and people.  My yard is my "Safety/Comfort Zone".

I am working on trying to get out of this zone to the best of my ability but in the meantime while in my zone I would like to have a nicer garden.  I would like to raise some money to expand the garden for growing food since I myself cannot go to or have been in a supermarket in over "10 YEARS".  I would love to be able to expand the garden by having things to do while in it, the more things I have to do, the longer I will want to stay outside and have some sort of quality of life.  I will have to order any of the supplies I am able to raise donations for via online or delivery services only as I am unable to go there physically myself.  I had to give up my driver's license and one of my all time greatest pleasures of going out at the age of 25, I am now 44 :(

I am unable to maintain having a regular 9-5 job as my disability does not allow me to work outside of the home, therefore I am forced to rely on disability assistance from the government which is of great help and I am so so grateful for but not enough for me to be able to afford some much needed things.

Internet & Social Media sites are what have kept me productive and have afforded me the ability to educate myself on hundreds of different topics.  I am learning many things daily as I love to learn new things and pass on my knowledge to help others.  I especially am beyond words grateful for FACEBOOK!  I am an extremely social person that has a very extensive list of hobbies and constantly looking for things to expand my mind to keep me efficient, educated, entertained.  I don't know where I would even be all of these years had it not been for Facebook, there I was able to reunite with so many of my friends, family members, childhood friends, previous coworkers, many groups that I am an active member of for education, Empathy, SKYPE, YouTube, Pinterest, EBay/Amazon, live animal cams, Animal Rescue, Kiva, self-help, hobbies, high intelligence groups, saving people from self destruction, photography, gardening, musicians/music, gaming, cooking/baking, cake decorating, nail art, attending weddings, birthday parties, sadly even wakes/funerals where I was unable to pay my last respects or say goodbye to many friends that were lost, events in general, art, support groups, etc., many that remember me for my vivid life and personality whom I shared many great times together going out, being social, going to concerts, walks, driving, going out to eat, the beach, clubs, dancing, laughing, being adventurous & spontaneous, traveling, bands, shopping, living life, making new friends, meeting people, working, helping in any way that I could, be friend or stranger, that we used to hang out regularly before I acquired my disorder.  I have no words to describe the pain and heartache I feel as to how much I MISS ALL OF THAT!

I am a Humanitarian myself and I would be so happy if I can reach this type of a goal because my time really is limited due to the type of disorder I have and spring/summer only lasts 4 months here.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this and I hope that with your help, I can be outside :) - Nikki
