Melanin Dayschool Academy Expansion

Melanin Day School Academy is an African centered community development program, created by parents for holistic family education. We emphasize on safe spaces where black(African decendent) families can create, nurture, and share their gifts with the world! Melanin Day School Academy started on October 3rd, 2020 in Sacramento, California.

Mission:
We are a community of families building networks of African Centered Educational Programs, where families come together to learn, share, build, heal and thrive.

 

Purpose:
Inform and educate members of the African Diaspora on methods and practices to heal and thrive together

Goals:
Develop and share Tools to heal with food, Art and culture
Partner & Collaborate with local, national, and international communities within the Diaspora 
Develop Melanin R&D opportunities

Our Educating Tribe:
We know that learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. That's why our educators are parents and community leaders committed to ensuring our communities are thriving. Our faculty of Mothers(MAMAs) Fathers(BABAs) ,  Auntys(TITIs), Uncles, sisters, brothers, Grandparents and community leaders,  are passionate about the subjects they teach. While relating with the whole family we bring the enthusiasm and rich culture into each lesson. This dedication breeds an enriched harmonious and balanced life.

First Rate Curriculum:
Are you a beginner, expert, or somewhere in between? Not to worry! We offer a variety of high-quality and intentionally crafted programs with a dedication to African centered learning designed to prepare our students and families for the world stage. Customized learning for Pre-K to  5th grade to start, and additional curriculum being developed, integrated and updated along the way!

Exciting Extracurriculars:
We offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities; ranging from music lessons, team sports, to art classes, african dance, poetry, african drumming and world travel, just to name a few. We create opportunities for families to explore their interests together. Memberships are available to meet your current and future needs! Stay connected and be prepared to engage in a transformational change rollercoaster of life!

Our programs have targeted an audience from 0 to 81 years of age! Truly a whole family experience!

We have learned how to come together in unity for a commone cause for Black Excellence and Black Power(Energy is needed for things to move) to thrive! Now we are working on showcasing our work, partnering with like organizations committed to liberating the African minds, and sponsorship to overflow investments where they are needed most..
