My name is Stephan Hamer and I started Nuk&Granny Farms to honor my grandmother's hard work and unconditional sacrifice for our family. She taught me how to love the land, move with it's rhythms and to see farming not just as work, but as a way of life.
When I came back home to care for her in 2017, I became her farm hand without even realizing it. In the process, I found my calling: to carry her stories forward and to create a farm space that nourishes not only my family, but my neighbors, friends, and community.
Today, Nuk&Granny Farms is at a turning point. The farm is growing, the vision is expanding, and the community is ready but both my home and the land need real investment to carry this dream forward.
I’m asking for your support to raise $7,500 to:
- Repair my home so I have a stable foundation to live and build from.
- Upgrade the garden with functional infrastructure - tools, greenhouse/hoop house, and irrigation that will make the farm more productive and sustainable.
- Create safe, beautiful spaces for farm-to-table dinners, workshops, and community gatherings, where people can experience healing, joy, and connection to the land.
This fundraiser isn’t just about keeping a farm alive - it’s about securing my grandmother’s legacy, so that what she planted in me can grow into something bigger than us both.
Every contribution, whether $5 or $50, is a seed. Together, those seeds will root into a future where Black and Indigenous farming legacies are not only remembered, but thriving.
If you can give, I’d be deeply grateful. If you can’t, sharing this campaign helps just as much.
Thank you for believing in my dream, my Granny's vision, and the future of Nuk&Granny Farms.
