Gentle Warriors Boys Becoming Men
Donation protected
Dear Community,
When we look to our tweens and teens we see strong and capable youth struggling with the pressures and expectations placed on them by a media saturated with violence, sex, aggression and body focus.
Our children need positive role models. They need adults who are engaged, responsible, approachable and enthusiastic about taking on the role of teacher, mentor and friend.
There already exists a program developed specifically to meet the needs of girls transitioning to women. A program offered to schools called “Girls Circle - Menstrual Health & Wellbeing Education” as well as a program for mothers and daughters called “The Blossoming Workshop”. Both of these programs have been successful and applauded by students, teachers and parents. In our experience of offering these programs everyone asks us “Is there a program for boys?”. The answer is that yes, there could be.
Leadership and program development training is offered by Dr Arne Rubenstein. He is a leader in his field and a man highly sought after the world over to teach boys and men the healthy ways to manhood.
Within our Mornington Peninsula community we have three incredible men. Men who already thrive in teaching positions within school communities. Men who have stood up and said “Yes, our boys need more from us”.
We would love to support these brave and willing men to gain the training provided by Dr Arne Rubenstein. The total cost including travel for Paul Ryan, K Carter and Neil Trezise to attend is $4950. We believe we could raise this amount in time for the February 2017 training intake.
In supporting this crowd funding effort you are providing this wonderful experience for your own sons and all the others who will attend. You are also gifting this to your daughters, the girls who grow and learn and, in time, will partner with the men these boys will grow to be.
With gratitude in our hopeful hearts,
Love Jules Ryan & Leanne Carr
