Growing Black Joy in Nature
$75 raised of
My name is Cliff Sorrell and I am proud to support Outdoor Afro because the Volunteer Program changes lives. From a first hike or camping trip to paddling, birding, or fishing, these experiences build confidence, skills, and belonging. Volunteers bring Outdoor Afro’s mission to their own communities, leading year-round outings that welcome people of all ages into nature nationwide.
When volunteers feel equipped and supported, they create safe spaces where Black people can explore, learn, and lead outdoors. This is community care in motion: people teaching each other how to read a trail map, cast a line, or identify a bird while building friendships and stewardship. Those connections blossom into lifelong relationships with the land and with one another.
This campaign honors the long tradition of Black generosity, leadership, and land stewardship. By raising funds for the Volunteer Program, we expand Outdoor Afro’s national impact so even more neighborhoods can experience the healing and joy of nature, and so more leaders can step forward to guide the way.
Please join me in supporting Outdoor Afro. Your donation will help train and sustain volunteers who bring the outdoors to their communities, create access to outdoor experiences, and grow a powerful network of Black leaders in nature. Thank you for helping us build healthier, more connected communities.
